Transparent Design
A completely new ,,look under the hood" not only provides a unique view of the ski's construction, but also a completely new and extremely powerful skiing performance. This construction, in which the translucent part of the ski actually extends to the binding, is made possible by an ingenious combination of an innovative wood core with matching carbon and natural fibers, which optimally transfer the forces between the boot and the ground to the edge and enable highly dynamic skiing styles. The riding experience is further enhanced by the remarkably low weight that this construction makes possible.
Unique 3D H-Woodcore
The two-part wood core design that stands as a unique innovation in the industry. This cutting-edge construction ensures a consistent transparency along the entire length of the ski, setting it apart from any other ski on the market. Crafted with an unwavering commitment to sustainability, the core is exclusively fashioned from environmentally friendly, FSC-certified wood, comprising solid poplar and beech. The two distinct sections of the wood core are seamlessly joined by a central sidewall, with sidewalls extending to the edge integrated directly into the core. Precision is paramount, and the special 3D structure of the wooden core is meticulously milled at our Straubing facility using state-of-the-art CNC technology — a tactile testament to the ski’s quality. This advanced wood core design contributes to a remarkably smooth and enjoyable skiing experience. By mitigating disruptive vibrations and shocks, it enhances control on the slopes. The V.WERKS 100 redefines the standard, offering not just a ski but a seamless fusion of innovation, craftsmanship, and performance.
Tailored Fiber Placement 2.0
TFP allows the ski to be torsionally stiff without the wood core halves being connected in the shovel. To achieve this unique construction of the two-part wood core, Völkl’s exclusive Tailored Fiber Placement (TFP) manufacturing process is used. Thanks to the transparent design, the visibly integrated, tailor-made inserts are stitched onto the base material in the shovel area in such a way that the dynamics and torsional rigidity of the ski can be precisely controlled by the arrangement, angle, fiber thickness and orientation. For the first time, a three-dimensional mix of carbon and natural fibers was used in the V.Werks 100. This results in greater precision, a faster response from the shovel and a more lively feel. While the carbon fibers ensure maximum power transmission, the natural fibers are responsible for a smooth ride with optimum damping. This not only improves the overall riding experience, but also the CO2 footprint.
Base P-Tex 4504
A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with an extremely high density. Besides a great wear resistance and perfect wax absorption the P-Tex 4504 is extremely fast and exclusively used on our top of the line and race models. The material has been upgraded with special additives to make it thermal and electro-conductive and proves its qualities with premium glide and maximum speed in races.
3D.Ridge Carbon
Central Woodcore Ridge with superslim wings to significantly reduce weight and swing weight and keep the stability where necessary. Combined with Full Carbon Jacket for Stability.

Ski Buyers Guide
Buying a pair of skis doesn't need to be a daunting experience. When buying a pair of skis, there are a few simple pieces of information that will help you to find your perfect match. With the introduction of carving skis and new technology, ski length is based more on the user’s weight than the tradition of using your height. Combine this with your ski level and your aspirations and this will help narrow your choice very quickly. Follow these simple steps:
STEP 1 - ABILITY
Firstly choose your current skiing level from the list below:
1 - Never skied before
2 - I can stop with a snowplough
3 - I am doing snowplough turns, and the odd blue run
4 - I am starting to parallel ski and onto blue runs
5 - I am venturing onto reds, and starting to make step turns
6 - I am getting confident on reds, and maybe doing the odd black
7 - I am comfortable skiing most black runs
8 - I am confortable on ice, and venturing off-piste
9 - I am skiing off-piste aggresively, and carving across all pistes
10 - I am a professional experienced ski instructor or racer
Here at The Skiers Lounge we then brake this down into 4 groups:
- NOVICE (Level 1 to 4)
- INTERMEDIATE (Level 4-6)
- ADVANCED (Level 6-8)
- EXPERT (Level 8-9)
- PROFESSIONAL (Level 10)
STEP 2 - TERRAINNow you know your skier level, you can decide where you will mainly be using your new skis:
- - Groomed Piste Runs
- - All snow conditions (From ice to slush)
- - All mountain skiing conditions (piste and off-piste)
- - Off-piste skiing (powder)
- - Ski touring
STEP 3 - SKI LENGTH
For selecting the correct ski length, we take your ability, weight and where you will use the skis, and can calculate an approximate length:
STEP 3 - FINAL ADJUSTMENT FOR SKILL LEVELThe final calculation- For
NOVICE skiers, this is your recommended length. For
INTERMEDIATE and
ADVANCED skiers we recommend adding 5cm to the above measurement, and for
EXPERT and
PROFESSIONAL skiers you would normally add 10cm to the above length and a little more for freeride skis.
