The Formula 88 all-mountain skis had us grinning ear-to-ear and you will be too. This super versatile all-mountain ski offers outstanding edge hold and an almost insane amount of agility thanks to an incredibly short 11 metre turn radius.
However, let the turns open and the ski tracks beautifully, and as you head off the sides into fresh powder it floats under total control too. The unique ride capabilities of this ski are thanks to a superb construction which includes an additional Swedish metal laminate 65mm wide to strengthen the flex and increase edge hold, and then the shaping of the skis, featuring a left/right specific setup with the inside edges shortened to further enhance agility throught the whole turn.
Add a generous tip and tail rocker for float in powder, and you have a ski that is a complete blast to ski on and brings out the inner child in you.

Our ski testers review of the Extrem Formula 88 Skis
I had the MOST fun in years on these skis. Despite sub-optimal conditions (rain, high winds, white-out) on the second test with these skis I was still grinning ear-to-ear. When I crashed due to me exceeding my abilities on these bruising two ribs, I was still grinning ear-to-ear (when not grimacing!). These are so much fun to ski on, incredibly agile, and look awesome to boot. These have gone straight into my personal ski collection and I won't be lending them out for testing in a hurry...

Technical specifications for the Extrem Formula 88 All-Mountain Skis
Poplar wood coresThe knot free, vertically laminated wood of snappy poplar is a medium lightweight core that gives a playful character of the skis. Combined with Titanal the skis become stiffer and torsional rigid yet keep its playfulness. A CNC-milled and integrated 55x650 mm wood plate of beech secures the mounting of the binding.
TitanalTo increase performance in terms of superior edge grip and high-speed stability, we add a thin strip of 0,4 mm Titanal to the construction. Titanal is the highest strength aluminium-alloy manufactured in an industrial standard process, originally developed for the aerospace industry. Titanal is a registred trademark, owned and produced by AMAG Austria Metall AG.
Race rubber dampening To minimise vibrations in hard snow conditions, such as icy slopes and wind packed off-piste, Extrem use 1.5 mm race rubber dampening in the tip and tail from Austrian Haberkorn GmbH. Extrem also use 0.2 mm rubber foil in the skis to further strengthen the construction and increase bonding between different materials.
Prepreg glass fibre Extrem are quite unique using dry Prepreg epoxy resins instead of letting their employees handle liquid epoxy when building skis, which is otherwise practice in the ski industry. Extrem's glass fiber rolls come industrially impregnated with HexPly M78 from the supplier Hexcel, a world-leading producer of advanced composite material for the aerospace industry. This results in a dry, safe and great work environment for the ski builders and significantly increases the quality of the skis.
Austrian race basesWe all like to ski fast! Therefore, Extrem use highest quality Isospeed 7515 race bases from Austrian Isosport GmbH. These running bases are made of ultra-high density polyethylene with high quality graphite for best gliding properties in a wide range of conditions.
Extra thick steel edges
For maximum durability of the skis, Extrem purchase one piece steel edges from the well renowned Waelzholz GmbH, who have manufactured steel edges in Germany for over 50 years. Extrem use their extra thick and durable Profile 132 that is 2.3 mm high and 2.2 mm wide
Extra wide ABS sidewalls
For maximum durability of the skis, Extrem use extra wide 8.5 mm ID 2500 ABS sidewalls from Austrian Isosport GmbH (compared to the ski industry standard width of 5-6 mm).
Top SheetsFor best wear performance and abrasion resistance, Extrem use sublimated 0.55 mm Isocap ICP 8210 top sheets with a structured surface from Austrian Isosport GmbH.
