This repair gun uses 12mm repair rods, and superheats the material allowing it to fuse with existing P-Tex base material for the best repair possible.

What's Included

  • RP105 Ski & Snowboard Base Repair Gun with EU 2 pin plug and stand
  • Bahco Base scraper with 50mm carbide scraping blade
  • Ski Mender TEC Matt, silicone easy release work mat
  • Pack of 10 clear repair rods
  • Pack of 10 black repair rods
  • Storage case

These items separately would be RRP £139, so the kit saves you money.

Instructions for using the Skimender RP105

To use, insert a repair rod, and switch on waiting for 10-15 minutes for optimum temperature to be reached. When the chamber is fully heated to 227°C the material will start to drip from the gun a little (this is normal).

Heat the base around the damage a little with the gun to bring the temperature up with a light pressure. Then gently squeeze the tool trigger to release liquid P-Tex material slowly into the repair area - keep a light pressure whilst doing so to ensure the material fully feels the repair area.

Do not worry if the material is a little proud, as it cools it will shrink a little, and you want a little excess to sand down to a finished level surface with the existing base.

Leave the material to cool for at least an hour. Then you can remove excess with a base scraper blade or sand the surface flush.

Care and cleaning tips

  • When you are switching rod colours, be aware that there will be a mixture of materials in the heating chamber so pass some material through by squeezing the trigger until the colour is consistent.

  • Black repair material is stronger than clear. The hardness of the material is higher, so always use black material wherever possible. Also be aware that clear material is easier to burn, turning yellow, so when using clear repair sticks work efficiently as soon as the material is liquid, and clean the pistol nozzle first with wire wool or sandpaper to remove any old black material.

  • Do not leave the gun on any longer than required, to extend the life of your tool.

  • Do not force material through the gun whilst it is still heating up. You could damage the gun, and the material will not be at optimum temperature to give an effective repair.
